Six Months

Today marks the sixth month of my marriage to husband. And I finally, finally readied all three videos that shows my journey to being a Mrs. I know, it's probably too late but what the heck, I can't think of a better time that to post these videos up here other than now. I really do hope that whoever watches these videos enjoy the little bit of heart that I put into them.

So to begin with, the first video is the pre-wedding traditions that I had to follow. I had to go through a ceremony called 'Maiyo' where turmeric was rubbed all over my face, arms and legs. This essentially works like a facial/body scrub. And only after that is henna applied. And then follows the actual 'Mehendi' (Henna) ceremony.

After the pre-wedding ceremonies were done, it is only then that the Nikah (solenization) takes places. This event is usually held at the bride's house. The Kadi (the person who does the solemnization) will give a lecture before the actual process, in which he advices the groom on the responsibilites he has towards his soon to be wife. This is actually more of a Malaysian culture, however some people do request that the Kadi skips the lecture. The most important part of the Muslim's solemnization is the agreement of the bride to the wedding and once that is done the bride then signs the Nikah paper which is basically a contract saying that these two people are legally married in the eyes of God and all those who witnessed it. I was tearing up and trembling the whole time.

After the Nikah, we usually have the 'Walima' which is traditionally the wedding reception. After the wedding reception is over there is the 'Rukhsati' which is when the bride's family is giving the bride away to the groom.

I hope the little bits of information that I managed to provide was useful; if not you could always click on the links that I provided. And this, was the most beautiful one week of my very short life to date. It was a beautiful journey from being someone's partner in crime to their partner in life; from being a loved one to becoming a lover; from being a special friend to becoming a wife. Wow, I'm actually tearing while writing this. :')

I'm so happy and grateful to God, the most merciful, that gave me this wonderful, beautiful, stubborn, kind, genius of a man as my husband. I couldn't have asked, even prayed for a better person to share my life with.

Alhamdullilah for these beautiful six months; I am looking forward to our forever, my dear husband.
♥♥♥

p/s: I just realized that the quality of the videos are seriously downgraded. :(

I must tell you that I love all of your pictures especially the last ones in your last video. They are straight out of a magazine! Plus I fell in love with all of the songs, especially the last song and I downloaded it on my ipod :)

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs TT! Thank you so much for sharing these amazing videos. The video quality is terrific.

I start to tear up within the first few bars of music. I love the music at weddings though I never seem to listen to it at any other time. It's so beautiful, just like the two of you.

In the first video I could see how much love your family had for you. The shots of you all dancing were so fun! It was so sweet to see. We call the maiyo a pithi (same exact thing with the tuemric but a different word.) Did you hide hubby's name in your mendhi?

You look absoutely regal in the nikah photos. I hope you felt stunning and bridal. The shot of hubby kissing you on the forehead was perfection.

Wishing you many many many more months of happiness, friendship, passion and love together.

Love,

Faiza
